SUMMER CAMP NIGERIA

A Typical Day in The Life of A Camper
*The following schedule is only meant to give an idea of a camper’s day. Activities will vary from day to day and the schedule will be adjusted for days of field trips and special events.
A Typical day for our campers would start at 6am when there would be call for all boarders to wake up. They’ll proceed to the sports arena for morning exercises and a briefing of the day’s activities. This would ideally last for about an hour. They’ll then proceed to freshen up and have breakfast in readiness for the day's activities.
Day campers are expected to join their boarded contemporaries by 9am when the morning session is scheduled to begin. Depending on the day of the week, we might start with a Self-Development exercise or perhaps a socio-cultural dialogue. After this first session, students will take part in their language class. This portion of the day is meant to awaken the students’ brains and get them alert for a full day of activities.
The morning session also features a Tea Break when campers will gather for a light snack and are allowed some free time to socialize with each other and generally recharge for the next activity. Afterwards, camper will split up into their chosen apprenticeship group. A camper might be interested in cooking and so they’ll head to the kitchen to begin their session. Another camper might be a part of the filmmaking apprenticeship, and so they’ll gather their camera equipment and head over to start working on their project.mAfter their Apprenticeship class, Campers will head to the cafeteria for a delicious lunch prepared by our skilled cooks.
The afternoon session commences with a group session on Reproductive Health, followed by a Character Building course, and maybe that day, they’ll get inspired by a motivational talk from one of our professional speakers.
At 4:30pm, the Day campers head home while Boarders unwind during a light siesta, in readiness for the Evening session.
The campers would typically start the Evening Session by doing a fun game or outdoor activity. Perhaps on this particular day, the campers will have an inter-camp competition and then watch a motivational movie.
7:30pm is dinner time for our Boarding Campers and they are treated to a sumptuous meal after a long day of camp activity.
Thereafter, campers engage in a period of "Daily Reflection" where they would gather to talk about what they’ve learnt during the day. After this short session, campers are encouraged to take care of any things that they need to do before bed—wash up, laundry, clean room, etc.
A typical day on our camp ends at 10pm. Campers go off to their comfortable beds for a good night rest, no doubt having dreams about the excitement that awaits them the next day.
